DSI, Inc. aka Datacom is a Woman Owned Business Entity (WBE) and was founded in 2007, primarily as a communications infrastructure company including: cabling, fiber, voice, video, data, networking technologies, peripheral application technologies and energy sytems. As the company grew, its customer base required DSI to expand into other regions of the U.S. The company now has offices in Alaska and Nevada and service companies on a national level through its direct virtual office network and a network of partners.
In 2008, DSI purchased the assets of Comtec Business Systems, Inc. (incorporated in 1984) acquiring distributorships with Alcatel-Lucent, LGS Bell Labs Innovation, Adtran, Bridgewave, Ceragon, Proxim and TrippLite. In 2010, the company has since added GPON, Voice Gateway and DWDM products from Tellabs to its product offering. In 2011, the company acquired distribution through Maniilaq Services, resale rights for innovative wind energy systems. Additionally, the company has launched an alternative energy division that provides solar and wind energy systems for the residental and commercial on-site generation market.
